James Tipping - Senior Consultant

James Tipping joined Redpoint as a Consultant in September 2006, having completed a PhD focused on modelling and forecasting electricity spot prices, in particular those of the New Zealand and Australian markets.  He has presented a number of papers on spot price and hydro modelling, and worked on game theory problems in energy markets.

As a part of his PhD, he completed several consulting assignments involving electricity market modelling with CRA International.

James has degrees in Economics and Statistics, a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science degree, and a PhD in Operations Research from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
