Duncan Sinclair - Director
Duncan Sinclair is one of the founding directors of Redpoint Energy. He has 14 years experience of advising energy companies, banks, regulators and government on a broad range of issues relating to the competitive electricity, gas and carbon markets in Europe.
Duncan has been leading Redpoint’s work with the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change since 2006 on various aspects of energy policy, including renewables financial incentives, European environmental legislation, and the roll out of smart meters to the residential market. He is advisor to the UK gas and electricity regulator, Ofgem, in issues relating to market design. Duncan has also advised leading energy companies on issues relating to risk management and investment strategy.
Prior to co-founding Redpoint in October 2004, Duncan was director of European Operations at SunGard Energy Systems with responsibility for implementing and supporting energy trading and risk management systems for clients across Europe. Prior to its acquisition by SunGard, Duncan was a director at Caminus Energy where he worked in three areas of the business: investment advisory services, regulatory advice and trading and risk management processes and systems. Duncan joined Caminus from Andersen Consulting in 1994.
